A subsidiary of a certain state-owned power grid company is an independent legal entity that generates, transmits and distributes electric power in the province. It is a public utility that is responsible for the planning, construction and operation of power grids and is charged with an important task of delivering secure and reliable power supply to an extensive number of power users in the urban and rural districts of the province and contributing to regional economic and social development. The said company has an extraordinarily complicated system structure with multiple different system versions, and this makes it difficult for the operation & maintenance staff and the business departments to exactly locate the root cause of performance problem; while many tools are available, none of them provides support for all middle ware.
OLM delivered an all-round package solution to the said customer enabling it to successfully build a proper monitoring, control and management system for electricity generation addressing more than sixty issues; the end-to-end performance management is provided for more than ten business systems, including the Corporate Portal System, Production Management System, Marketing Support, Power Trading and Financial Control systems; and the monitoring and control points are distributed on more than 50 hosts, including Web servers, APP servers and databases.
OLM's solution has allowed the customer to manage its business using a uniform monitoring and control interface, which helps it quickly locate the failure at code level and ascertain the responsibility of its departments; and thanks to this, the perception of the end users become visible and manageable.
